Patricia Darlene Jones, 56, departed this earthly life Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Pat, as she was so affectionately known, was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
She attended Apalachicola High School and although a class member of 1982, she took gap time and later returned to earn her high school diploma in 1995. This monumental milestone was celebrated with family and friends.
With the many talents she had, culinary art, community activism, counselors to family, friends and strangers, her most rewarding enjoyment came from being a homemaker nurturing her children and grandchildren. Her culinary skill definitely was handed down from her mother (Ms. Pearlie).
She soothed many hearts and souls by serving up some of her well-known dishes. It was her genuine love of people and her passion for cooking that kept people coming back to chat and chew with her. Her free Spirit of life could be seen and heard in the lives of all who knew her, especially her children and grandchildren. All who sought her advice, whether you ask for it, or not, appreciated her candid conversations. It’s this type of realness that people find unforgettable about her and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearlie Mae Rochelle and Clifford Jones, Sr.; brother Clifford Eugene Jones, Jr.; sister Pauline Denise Farmer; grandparents Marie W. Rochelle and Robert Key Sr., William and Pauline Parker and Samuel Henderson; grandson, A'marie Jones; and niece Carmia Lee.
