Charles H. Cooper, Sr.
Daddy loosened his bow ropes and set sail for a distant shore, as he was looking forward to that great city with foundations whose architect and builder are God.
Charles H. Cooper, Sr., 84, of Apalachicola, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 8, 2020. He was born Jan. 25, 1936 in Apalachicola.
Mr. Cooper, was a member of First Assembly of God in Apalachicola. Most of his working years were in the seafood industry, then retiring from the Franklin County Road Camp after 15 years of service. He served in the Army National Guard for 31 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles N. and Ida L. Cooper; daughter, Ida Cooper Elliott; granddaughter, Kaitlyn N. Guillotte; and son-in-law, Wayne Stockwell.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Mildred Cooper; son, Charles Cooper Jr.; daughters, Deborah Guillotte (Darren), Susan Stockwell and Charlotte Andrews (Sam); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Cooper; and sisters, Dorothy Grace Thompson, Louise Carrin (Bobby), and Elizabeth Cordova.
A going home celebration for Charles Cooper was held on Thursday, June 11 at noon, with visitation starting at 11 a.m., at the First Assembly of God church in Apalachicola, with the Rev. Gwinell Wilson officiating. Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery. Services under the direction of Comforter Funeral Home.
