James N. Brown

James N. Brown, 95, of Carrabelle, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020.

He was born Sept. 1, 1924 in Jonesboro, Georgia, the son of Samuel and Belle Brown.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, William H. Brown, and Jack A. Brown, a son Jerry Brown and stepson Mike Lee.

Jim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, a Mason, captain with the Atlanta Fire Department for 20 years, and mayor of Carrabelle.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Juanita Brown; daughter Peggy Brown; brother Jesse Brown (Charlotte); sister Lollie Hall; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; stepchildren Shane Lee (Cecilia), Ross Lee (Debbie), and Tana Oshop (Denny); and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 307 Third St West, Carrabelle.
