Annie Julie Surber, 71, of Carrabelle, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 11, 1948 in Thomasville, Georgia, to Evelyn Hutto and James Lloyd Jackson.
She worked as a bartender for many years, first at the Edgewater Bar in Carrabelle and later Harry’s Bar. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Camp Gordon Johnston American Legion Post 82 in Lanark Village.
Julie, known to most as “Aunt Julie,” was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be missed but not forgotten.
She is survived by her brother Cecil Jackson, of Carrabelle; nephews Isaac Johnson, of Carrabelle, and John Surber, of Arkansas; a niece Kathy Hill, of Eastpoint, along with their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 34 years, Roy Surber; and two brothers, Danny Jackson and Andy Jackson.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 8 beginning at 2 p.m. at the Marine Street Grill, 304 Marine St., in Carrabelle.
