Mr. Tilton “Speedy” Edwards, 81, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020.

He was born Dec. 14, 1938 in DeFuniak Springs to Virgil and Florance Andrews Edwards.

Mr. Edwards was a resident of Ponce De Leon. He was Presbyterian by faith and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving his country in the U.S. Army.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked as an electrician and plumber for many years, having owned and operated Speedy Edwards and Son Plumbing and Electric. He also loved fishing.

Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his father and mother; and sisters Evelyn Collier and Katheleen Cosson.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lynette “Net” Edwards, of Ponce De Leon; son Charles “Chumpy” Bowden and wife Angela, of Panama City; sisters Shirley Fleming, of Prosperity, Christine Stone and husband Mike, of Mississippi; grandchildren Bridget Scott, and Brandy Brock and husband Raz; and great-grandchildren Haley Scott, Avery Scott, and Talen Scott.

A time of visitation was held Friday afternoon, Jan. 17 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, DeFuniak Springs. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joel Glenn officiating.

Those serving as pallbearers were Billy McCombs, Eric Rushing, Phillip Byrd, Stephen Byrd, and Alan Lee.

Burial followed in New Ponce De Leon Cemetery.

Flowers are being accepted.
