The Florida Department of Heath reported 4,752 new COVID-19 cases and 73 additional deaths Monday.

Monday marked the lowest daily increase since 3,366 were announced June 26, when Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered bars to close for the second time since the pandemic began.

As a result, the state's seven-day average for reported deaths declined slightly to 175.14 Monday.

Monday marked the ninth straight day the state reported fewer than 10,000 new cases.

Florida has counted a total of 491,884 cases since the pandemic began.

The number of Florida residents hospitalized with COVID-19 increased to 27,366 since the pandemic began. The Department of Health notes the total figure is cumulative and does not reflect the number of COVID-19 patients currently in hospitals.
