The brand new Eastpoint fishing pier restrooms were disabled by the hurricane. The restrooms’ building appears to have survived just fine, but the walkway to it was washed out. Perhaps the plumbing under the building (on stilts) was also damaged?

However, it’s still out because the walkway (and plumbing?) have not been started. We've missed one full year of tourist season. A structure that sits unused, especially right on the shore, decays much faster than one in use and maintained, so it may cost more to repair the longer it sits unoccupied.

The county should repair this before spring tourist season. We’d all like tourists to use our pier, buy bait, and eat out in Eastpoint!
