Kenneth Sawtell Reynolds, beloved brother, uncle and friend passed away at his home Thursday, April 16, 2020. “Uncle Kenny,” as known by most, was 80 years old.


He was born to Gracia and Harry Reynolds on March 3, 1940. Ken was an avid scuba diver and pilot. He lived in the Carrabelle area for the last 30-plus years and loved the beach, treasure hunting, the water and flying. He was an Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War. He will be missed by many friends and family.


He is survived by one sister: Anne Hoover, and brother-in-law, Gil Hoover, of Tallahassee; four nephews and spouses, Danny Hoover, of Monticello, Donnie Hoover, of Mashes Sands Beach, Gil Hoover III, of Tallahassee, and Evan Reynolds, of Arizona; eight great-nephews and nieces, 12 great-great-nieces and nephews; and many close friends.


Per his wishes, he was cremated and his ashes will be scattered at Dog Island where he spent many, many happy days. Date and arrangements will be announced in this paper at a later date for friends and family who wish to participate.


David Conn and Kimberly Crum of Bevis Funeral Home in Crawfordville are assisting the family with arrangements.
