Adrienne Elizabeth Sangaree Elliott passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at St. James Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrabelle.


Adrienne, as known to her family and friends, was born on May 25, 1925 in Apalachicola, to Veto Sangaree and Sadie Marr Sangaree. She was married to Eugene C. Elliott on June 11, 1944 in Apalachicola. She graduated from Chapman High School in 1944, was a majorette in her high school band and played basketball for the Lady Chapman Sharks.


In her younger years, Adrienne loved to play bridge and was a member of the Bridge Club which met once a week, mostly on Saturdays. She was a homemaker and worked as the secretary of the Franklin County Extension office for 32 years.


She was a devoted member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and never missed a week without going to church, except when she was sick.


Adrienne was survived by her three sons, Kenny (Donna), Jimmy (Fe) and Mark; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Suzanne (Shawn), Allison (Carlos), Celeste (Allen), Jarrett, Miranda (Tim) and Samantha (Kevin); 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several relatives and friends.


She was predeceased by her parents, Veto Sangaree and Sadie Marr Sangaree; spouse, Eugene C. Elliott; siblings, Dan Sangaree and Charlotte S. Dean; and daughters-in-law, Debra and Ida Elliott.


Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, March 13 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 27th 6th St., Apalachicola, at 10 a.m., and funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Father Roger Latosynski, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow immediately after the service at the Magnolia Cemetery.
