Kathy Jean Millender, 59, of Carrabelle, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

She was born Nov. 12, 1960 to her parents Farris and Margaret Millender and was a native of Carrabelle. Kathy was the owner and operator of Poteet Seafood in Carrabelle for over 20 years, and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Carrabelle.

Kathy's grandchildren were her heart, she enjoyed being on the water at the beach and loved her time at her property on the bay, sitting on the porch watching the mullet jump and dolphins feeding. One priority in Kathy's life was fitness, good health and she kept it up by running, exercising and eating healthy.

Survivors include her son Lee Poteet and wife Tasha; brothers Bruce Millender and wife Angeline, Vance Millender and wife Dale, Johnny Millender and wife Sheila; sister Beth Millender and her grandchildren Colt Poteet and Maisie Poteet.

She is predeceased by her parents Farris Gene and Margaret Millender.

The family received friends Saturday, Feb. 29 at 1 p.m. at Carrabelle First Assembly of God church and the funeral service began at 2 p.m. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery.
