Upon moving to Apalachicola in 1995, Tamara worked at the Apalachicola Seafood Grill, later rented the kitchen at Harry A’s and then opened Tamara’s Cafe in 1997, which she would sell to her daughter and son-in-law Marisa and Danny Itzkovitz. She then opened her final creation, Café Con Leche in 2004.

She was preceded in death by her mother Vicenta Suárez, her father Manuel Campalans, and her brothers Enrique and Omar Suárez.

If you knew Tamara, you know she loved music and dancing, so the best way to celebrate her life is by dancing the day away with all her favorite music in her most loved places in Apalachicola. Join us in our procession starting at the Gibson Inn on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SGI Cat Allies at www.sgicatallies.com, or Franklin Country Humane Society www.forgottenpets.org.
