Jeffrey Ryan Vasilinda, 44, passed suddenly from this earth from complications of the flu on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019 at his home in Newport, Kentucky.

Jeff was born in Tallahassee, graduated from Leon High School, and attended Chipola State College and Tallahassee Community College.

Jeff was a skilled negotiator and brought out the best in people. His sincerity, keen observations and dry wit, coupled with the constant smile on his face, were contagious, winning him friends and admiration from those who knew him and those he just met. While he possessed a personality that was cheering and cheerful, loving and caring; Jeff also famously suffered no fools.

Jeff excelled at managing people and found purpose and pride in his work as manager of hotel valet services. He was a rising star and future partner in his company. He, and the staff he took care to train thoroughly and well, were the first that visitors to a new city met and whether the hotel guests were on business or vacation or visiting family for weddings, births, or tragedy, Jeff did all he could to make sure the first service person they met was courteous, professional, friendly and caring. Jeff is well-loved, respected and will be sorely missed by his colleagues and those under his supervision.

Jeff was dedicated and loving of his family, always making time to spend with his siblings and parents. He was good and understanding of both young and old.

He is survived by his mother, Marcella Daniels, of Wewahitchka; father Mike Vasilinda; brothers Ben and Keith Vasilinda; his nephew Chase, who lovingly called him Unkie; nephew Tyler; and nieces Brianna, April, and Xylia.

Jeff will be buried with his grandparents in Apalachicola at a future date, and a celebration of his life will be announced shortly.
