The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has welcomed Morgan Martin as the department’s substance abuse care coordinator.
Martin, 23, will help individuals get into rehabilitation facilities, both inpatient and outpatient, and connect them with beneficial resources to aid in recovery and success. The position is funded through grant monies.
“This is one way we are working against substance abuse in Franklin County and connecting those with rehabilitation and services,” said Sheriff A.J. Smith. “Not many sheriff’s offices have a resource like this available to provide a safe way for individuals to seek help. We want to highlight this individual and make sure the community is aware that this resource is available to them.”
A former Miss Florida Seafood who graduated from Franklin County High School in 2015, Martin graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism from Florida A & M University in Aug. 2019. For the past year she has taught English, intensive reading and yearbook advisor at the high school, and edited the Seahark Scoops, as well as videos from teachers and students.
