A 23-year-old Fort Walton native is looking for donations to create shelters for feral cats.
FORT WALTON BEACH — As fall ends and winter approaches, a 23-year old Fort Walton native is preparing cats for the season change.
Casandra Holmes, who now lives in Destin, is making shelters for homeless cats.
"When it’s raining, I want them to have somewhere safe to be," Holmes said.
Holmes said she saw a Facebook video about such shelters. The interiors are particularly beneficial to keeping temperatures high, she said.
Holmes is accepting donations of coolers, bins and straw. She also is looking for homeowners willing to house one of the shelters.
She also said to request a shelter for the neighborhood, email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
