Faithful servant Carol Edmondson Kelley was called home by our Lord Jesus on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019. She was born in 1940 in Jacksonville.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ronald A. Kelley, and their children Charlene Etta and Shawn Allen, of Carrabelle. She is preceded in death by both her loving parents, George and Gladys Collins, and sister Betty Jo, of Orlando, and Ronald’s parents, James C. and Mildred A. Kelley, of Orlando. Also preceding her in death are Ronald’s brothers, James F. and John M. Kelley.

She leaves behind her stepmother, Glennis Collins, of Dublin, Georgia; Carol’s brother, Roy Lee Edmondson and his wife Connie, of Warner Robbins, Georgia; and many other extended family members.

Carol was a resident of Orlando until she and her family moved to Carrabelle in 2003 to enjoy the golden years of retirement. She and Ron quickly joined First Baptist Church of Carrabelle where they were active and attended faithfully. Carol spent her life as a homemaker nurturing her family, living and teaching her Christian faith, and perfecting her sewing skills along with her dear friends of the Wandering Star Quilters of Lanark Village.

Carol’s Memorial Gathering and Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church of Carrabelle, 206 SE Ave A, Carrabelle, on Saturday, Sept. 28. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Carol’s family is requesting donations to First Baptist Church for the Carol Kelley Memorial Fund to benefit Samaritan’s Purse. Each year, Carol looked forward to working on Operation Christmas Child, a mission project that provides shoeboxes stuffed with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Donations can be sent to Carol Kelley Memorial Fund, c/s First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 768, Carrabelle, FL 32322.
