As Hurricane Dorian threatens NASA space center, employees rush to secure vital equipment.
While meteorologists are still trying to figure out exactly when and where Hurricane Dorian will make landfall, NASA and NOAA are keeping track of this massive storm from space as it potentially threatens the Kennedy Space Center currently orbiting around the earth.
As this storm barrels towards Florida, employees at the Cape Canaveral based space station are taking precautions to ensure that vital equipment isn’t damaged in the hurricane.
Satellite images of Dorian show a massive storm pattern that stretches across large swaths of earth’s terrain. The hurricane is expected to reach Florida sometime on Tuesday as a Category 4 although some tropical storm-like winds are anticipated early Sunday morning.
NASA will be closing its space station to visitors starting Sunday in preparation.
