An officer with the Blountstown Police Department, his son and another man were arrested early Friday morning after a fight inside an Eastpoint restaurant.

Lt. Tim Partridge, 47, of Altha was charged with four counts of battery. His son, Scott Dakota Partridge, 23, also of Altha, was charged with one count of battery and property damage.

A third man, Larry Joe Colson Jr., 45, of Eastpoint, was charged with one count of battery.

The officer and his son can be clearly seen on security video of the altercation which happened around 2:30 a.m. at the El Jalisco Restaurant.

Customers and restaurant employees who were about two tables apart were speaking loudly, which apparently prompted Partridge - who was at a table out of their sight - to intervene.

He is seen as he walks toward a table in the back of the restaurant where two men and a woman are seated. With his arms outstretched to make a point, he begins speaking with them but stops when one of the restaurant’s regular customers, at a table behind him, made a comment.

The video shows Partridge turning, with his arm outstretched and pointing toward the man sitting alone in the booth as he walks toward him and suddenly slaps him in the face. He pushes the man down on the bench and while holding him there, points back to the other table before continuing the attack.

His son then walks up, tugs at the collar of his father’s shirt and pulls him away. As he guides his dad back to their table, his father continues talking and gesturing at the man.

Moments later, Dakota Partridge walks toward the second booth and approaches a man who had just been sitting there. Two other men - presumably restaurant employees - walked up cautiously as the officer’s son began talking to him. The other man appeared to be speaking when the 23-year-old - who is 6-foot 2inches tall and 328 pounds - leaned in and punched him, knocking him to the floor.

As another man picked up a chair and threw it at the younger Partridge, his father ran up and joined the brawl. After punching the man who threw the chair, the off-duty officer ran toward the back booth where his son was on his back on the floor. A woman standing over him pulled back her arm as if to punch him but was knocked to the ground with a punch from the officer, who then hit another man who was sliding under the table. When the woman tried to come to that man’s defense, Partridge grabbed her by the hair and punched her again. At that point, his son put his hand on his father’s chest to push him back as the woman dropped to the floor.

The Partridges and the other man then walked out.

After reviewing the security footage, the investigating deputy described the elder Partridge’s “body language” as “aggressive.”

After his father stepped away, his son stepped in. “Timothy Partridge struck (victim’s name redacted) in the face twice with a closed right hand while (the victim) was attempting to get to his feet to defend himself,” read the deputy’s report. “(He) pushed the man’s head into the wall, leaving a hole in the booth where he had been sitting.

Partridge was later released on $2,000 bond; his son was released on $750 bond and Colson was let go on $500 bond.

Blountstown Police Chief Mark Mallory said Partridge was placed on administrative leave while the case is being investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff AJ Smith said he planned to make a statement on the incident after reviewing the matter. Mallory said he will be doing his own internal investigation.
