Lanark events and happening are moving on and I’ll try to fill in a little bit on what is going on. Our own Harriett Beach passed away April 27; she will be missed. Her family has announced that they are having a memorial service for her. Plans are May 18, from 2 to 5 p.m. at St. James Bay Resort at the Fountain Room, please bring a dish. RSVP Nola, 697-5050

Our cute Mary Staff, worker at the old Lanark Thrift Store, will be leaving the area to go live in Illinois. Best wishes and love goes with her. Speaking of the Thrift Store, the old Lanark Mall has a Coastal Realty office and Sunny Life Wellness and Massage. Welcome to Lanark, Elizabeth and Charles.

The Lanark Golf Club had its April Yard Sale. They did well, thanks to those who supported them. Yay, another six months of cut grass. The public is always welcome to play golf.

The Lanark Boat Club, after repairing for months due to extensive damage from Hurricane Michael, is busy getting ready to start their monthly breakfast on Saturday, May 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. This event is every third Saturday of each month and is open to the public. Welcome Back! Put it on your calendar.

Coffee Time at Chillas Hall, 9 to 11 a.m., will continue subject to attendance.

The American Legion continues to have their amazing cheeseburgers on Fridays 5 to 7 p.m. and pizza on Sundays 5 to 7 p.m. The public is welcome. They also host Farm Share every Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Sacred Heart Church and the St. James /Lanark Volunteer Fire Department alternate weeks hosting Bingo Night on Thursday nights at the Crooked River Grill. Check with the grill for details.

Lanark has said goodbye to most of our snowbirds. The events will slow down during the summer, but watch out for the parties and dinners in the fall.

Lanark Village has a secret “opening” soon.
