Explore one of Florida natural springs at Rainbow Springs State Park. Its super long, lazy river is one of Florida perfect weekend things to do.

Spring weekends are made for fun and relaxation — so spending an afternoon peacefully floating down Florida’s mega-lazy river is a no-brainer.

Rainbow Springs State Park located in Dunnellon, Fla. is home to sunshine thirsty tourists and locals who are looking to unwind making it an ideal escape for spring break or a weekend getaway.

The park is one of Florida’s largest springs with water temperatures averaging 72 degrees and activities galore over its more than 1,472 acres -- for swimmers, kayakers, tubers, and campers.

If you’re looking to ride the river, $20 will cover your tube and tram fee, or you can bring your own tube and float for hours. Parking is free, but you’ll need to pay a $2.00 State Park Admission Fee per person.

When to go:

If you’re tubing: April to November
If you’re hiking, swimming, canoeing or exploring: Any day, the park is open 365 days a year
