The Carrabelle Chamber of Commerce is excited to host the 24th annual Holiday on the Harbor Street Festival and Boat Parade of Lights this Saturday, Dec. 8 from 1 to 8 p.m. in downtown Carrabelle.
Enjoy an afternoon and evening of food, festivities, and fun, again featuring a street festival with terrific children’s activities like visits with Santa and his elves, facepainting, and a free children’s train ride. The event will include yummy holiday treats, vendors with delicious food and wonderful products for holiday gifts, and entertainment.
The Pam Nobles Studio dancers will perform at 5 p.m. on Marine Street! So get those toe-tappin' shoes and cameras ready for another exciting dance program by this awesome group of performers.
Downtown Carrabelle merchants will be open during the festival with holiday specials. The majority of the street festivities will take place along the Carrabelle Harbor on Marine Street and Ave B. Admission is free.
Before the Boat Parade, at C-Quarters Marina, singer Debi Jordan will entertain the crowd starting at 5:30 p.m. with a selection of Christmas songs from her “Twelve Strings of Christmas” CD. Later she will lead us in the annual sing-along of “The Twelve Days of Christmas in Carrabelle” before the boat parade awards ceremony.
Watch the parade of festive boats decked out in Christmas lights and decor in celebration of the holidays followed by a fantastic fireworks display courtesy of the Carrabelle CRA. The parade starts at approximately 6:15 pm and proceeds along the Carrabelle River and harbor between the fishing pavilion on Marine Street and the Tillie Miller Bridge on US 98, so it can be enjoyed from many viewing spots on both sides of the river.
They’ll be a Christmas carol sing along between the fireworks and the award ceremony at C-Quarters Marina, with Lisa Munson, the chamber’s executive director, and Jordan “The Voice” of Carrabelle’s Chamber. Following the sing along, the boat parade trophies for each boat category and the Marina Challenge Trophy, complete with a year’s worth of braggin’ rights, will be awarded.
On Sunday, Dec. 9, you can start the day with a delicious Sunday brunch at the Crooked River Grill at the St. James Golf Resort in St. Teresa and then attend “Christmas on the Coast,” a free non-denominational Christmas program at the Franklin County School cafeteria at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
