Once again, the HCOLA Candidates Forum will be the highlight of the political debate season.

The forum, at the Holy Family Senior Center beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday night, Aug. 22, will feature the five candidates running for Apalachicola city commissioner.

In District 3, where Frank Cook, the incumbent city commissioner, is retiring, the race is a three-way race between Anita Grove, 57, 174 Avenue C; Charles Kienzle, 64, 15 Eighth Street, and R. Brent Mabrey, Jr., 68, 105 11th Street.

The top two finishers in the Sept. 5 election will face each other in a runoff Sept. 19

In District #4, incumbent Commissioner Brenda Ash, 213 17th Street, is facing a challenge from Carol Barfield, 49, 150 Ninth Street. The winner in that race will be decided Sept. 5.
