Franklin County High School Principal Chip Clatto was hired last week as the new principal at Thomasville High School.

On May 2, the Thomasville City School Board unanimously approved hiring Clatto to oversee the city's high school.

Clatto will replace Todd Mobley, the 10-year THS principal who will retire at the end of May.

In March, Clatto resigned as principal over FCHS, after a little over eight months on the job. Clatto's resignation goes into effect June 30.

Noelle Clatto, Chip's wife, also was hired as the academic coach for MacIntyre Park Middle School. She teaches eight and ninth grade English/Language Arts at FCHS.

Along with the naming of the new principal, a new position will be added at Thomasville High. Stacy Reese was hired as the dean of students for the city high school. Incoming Superintendent Dr. Laine Reichert said the new position will focus on student graduation. Reese is the dean of Franklin County Schools.
