So long for a while; for those of you who are headed back north, have a safe trip and a good spring and summer.

I do hope you had a happy and blessed Easter. I bet you were a smash in your new Easter outfit and bonnet.

See you this afternoon for lunch at the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center. Our faithful volunteers will have a good hot lunch prepared for us at noon. Your donation of $5 will be collected at the desk.

Just in. Betty told me to let you know they can accept large furniture now. The thrift shop is in the Lanark Plaza Shopping Center, open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to noon. Come on in and browse around. Have a cup of coffee. No doubt there will be something you absolutely can’t live without.

Coffee and maybe some goodies are ready, Monday through Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Chillas Hall.

The Lanark Village Association board will meet at Chillas Hall on Monday, April 4 at 7 p.m. This will be our last meeting until the fall. Board members will be on call in case of an emergency.

Tuesday is always soup and rolls at the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On Wednesday afternoon, bingo is played from 2 to 4 p.m. at the senior center. Good luck!

Fridays and Sundays, you know where the action is. Friday is hamburger and chips night, and Sundays are pizza, at Camp Gordon Johnston American Legion Post 82 from 5 to 7 p.m. both nights. Your donation of $6 will be collected at the bar and don’t forget the chances on the pie or cake raffle, both nights. For orders to go, call 697-9998. The screened porch is where you need to go to smoke and joke from 5 to 7 p.m.

Jim and Maryann Bove said ‘hello.’

Thanks for the Easter cards, candy, calls and meals. I really appreciate them all.

Be kind to one another, check in on the sick and housebound smile, Jesus loves you. And remember, volunteers make it happen. Let them know you appreciate them.

Until next time, God bless America and our troops, the poor, homeless and hungry.
