On Thursday evening March 10 at Basecamp on Commerce Street near the Apalachicola Chamber of Commerce, the Vroegop's Ecotourism center and garden was the setting for closing community event for the Smithsonian's Museum on Main Street Exhibit , "The Way We Worked".  The Exhibit, which visited FranklinCounty from January 28 to March 12, was sponsored by the Apalachicola Municipal Library  and the Historic Apalachicola Foundation's Apalachicola Museum of Art.

Tourists from over 20 states , as well as visitors from Canada and Europe, along with more than 300 FranklinCounty school children, visited the Exhibit during its 6 week stay in the County.  Additionally, community forums focusing on work and education were held weekly at the Museum of Art, engendering lively community discussion for residents and tourists alike,
