The Panhandle Players are holding auditions for their next production, “Dearly Departed,” which is scheduled to take the stage March 20 to 22.

The comedy, written by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones, is directed by Steve Allen. Auditions will be held on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 20 and 21, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Chapman Theatre.

In the Baptist backwoods of the Bible Belt, the beleaguered Turpin family proves living and dying in the South are seldom tidy and always hilarious. Despite their earnest efforts to pull themselves together for their father's funeral, the Turpins' other problems keep overshadowing the solemn occasion.

No experience is necessary and everyone is welcome. People are also needed to work as backstage crew.

This is a great opportunity to join community theatre even if you don’t want to appear on stage. We are always looking for new people.
