The Dec. 6 and 7 sale will feature a large array of items, all in good or like-new condition.

The Patrons of the Apalachicola Library System (PALS) will hold their annual yard sale fundraiser on Friday, and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

The old library building at the corner of 6th Street and Avenue D in Apalachicola is packed with beautiful items all in good or like-new condition, all are priced to sell!

There’s furniture, including four matching chairs with upholstered seats, a futon with a comfy deeply padded cushion, a unique tall wine cabinet with storage for 25 bottles of wine, copper cabinets for wine paraphernalia, and hanging racks for wine glasses.

Plus there are four vintage wooden folding chairs with a carved leaf pattern back that are easy to store and perfect for when you need additional seating.

Other household items include a large plush area rug in a contemporary design and a classic needlepoint rug; a big selection of lamps including matching wall-mount reading lamps, table lamps and a chandelier. The walls are filled with works of art, some by local artists, that will enhance any room décor from beach style to classic homes with landscapes, nature paintings of birds, flowers and trees, and art that will add a fun, cheerful, colorful touch to any home.

If you’re are looking for some unique or unusual gifts this year, come look at the lovely pieces of jewelry and jewelry boxes. There’s costume jewelry, hand-crafted jewelry, some in silver and some with semi-precious stones. Or check out the exceptionally fine wooden backgammon/chest set, and other games.

Table wares and decorative items this year include pieces both collectible and functional, such as Spode china plates, a wooden salad bowl set with serving utensils, alabaster stone vases, a hand-painted faience china set, Waterford glassware and silver items. Or choose from a big assortment of throw pillows in a variety of solid colors and attractive patterns.

There is also a wide variety of fabric items such as place mats, including a set of eight never-used beach-scene place mats. Plus there are numerous entertaining items, and holiday decorations to buy just in time for trimming your home for Christmas.

If you know someone with a baby daughter, or who is expecting a baby girl in the near future, take a look at the charming pink baby crib set. It’s new, and never been used!

Need things for your home office or small business? There are electronic products, office supplies, office furnishings and other practical items. And of course, there are books for sale!

This year’s PALS yard sale may be the best ever. And as always, everything is priced at pennies on the dollar … bargains galore just waiting for a new home!

To get the best choices and selection be sure to come the first day at the opening time of 8 a.m., when doors will be opened to shoppers. PALS volunteers will be there to answer questions and be of help. There will be a section where you can put selected items that a volunteer will tag with your name while you continue to shop.

If you may be purchasing a lot of items, it is recommended you bring bags or boxes to put them in after your purchase is paid.

All items must be paid in cash or check at time of purchase; there is no ability to take credit cards.

All items must be picked up and taken by 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 7. Anyone purchasing large items such as furniture must arrange to remove it and take it home; there are no delivery services available.

All money raised at the yard sale will be used to fund new books and programs for the Apalachicola Margaret Key Library.
