A collection of 29 black-and-white photographs by preeminent Florida photographer Clyde Butcher, featured in photo above, will be on exhibit through July at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve’s nature center, 108 Island Drive in Eastpoint. Since 2004 the exhibition has traveled the state to increase awareness of and appreciation for Florida’s 41 aquatic preserves.

An open house event this Friday, March 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. will showcase the exhibit, an accompanying documentary, as well as a new outdoor classroom and boardwalk at the Reserve headquarters. This event, which includes refreshments, is sponsored by the Friends of the Reserve, a non-profit, 501c3 organization that supports the goals of the Reserve. For more information, call 670-7700.
