It is upsetting to see all those local citizens speaking out in opposition to sharing the national forest with our armed services.

As a former serviceman and long-term local citizen that has enjoyed many of the features and attributes of our local, state and national forests in Franklin and surrounding counties, it seems there is plenty of space to share in the training of our troops. As citizens, we depend upon those troops to protect our nation and its citizens. Sharing the many acres for such training purposes would certainly be the least we can do towards that goal.

The huge acreage included in our neighboring governmental lands lends itself to a sharing opportunity that with proper panning should be supported and cheered by all dedicated Franklin County citizens and their political leaders!
