Summer practice Thursdays for volleyball players

Franklin County recreational volleyball, for girls entering grades six through 12, will begin Thursday, June 25 at the Franklin County High School gymnasium.

The volleyball program will then run every Thursday evening, through Aug. 6.

Players in grades 6 through 8 will take the court from 5:30 to 7 p.m. while those in grades 9 through 12 will practice from 7 to 8:30 p.m., in the air conditioned comfort of the new gym.

"If you're serious about improving your volleyball skills, bring your knee pads and be there that day," said school board member George Thompson, a former coach of the Carrabelle High School Lady Panthers volleyball team. "It's a good way to get practice in."

For more info call Thompson 670-8553 and be sure to leave a message.
