Funds to be Presented for Parks
The ceremony will be held at the Wharf Park in Carrabelle at 2:00 pm.
Funds appropriated by the Florida Legislature this year for the Carrabelle Recreation Park, Vrooman Park in Eastpoint, and the Franklin County Seafood Landing Park in Apalachicola will be presented to the county by Rep. Will Kendrick (R-Carrabelle) on Monday, August 11. Additionally, monies for Wharf Park in Carrabelle will also be presented.
The ceremony will be held at the Wharf Park in Carrabelle at 2 pm. Everyone is encouraged to attend and support local efforts to improve the existing parks.
"These funds will provide a boost to the parks in the county. Families will have nice facilities to visit and be able to enjoy a number of recreational activities," said Rep. Kendrick.
Wharf Park and Carrabelle Recreation Park will each receive $135,611 for improvements to complete additional phases of the facilities and enhance constructed amenities. Vrooman Park will receive $100,000 and the Franklin County Seafood Landing Park will receive $150,000.
Others anticipated to be in attendance for the presentation of ceremonial checks are Members of the Legislative Delegation, representatives from the Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, local officials, and community leaders.
