Oops, we goofed
In last week's story, the Times made a glaring error.
The story reported that the Jay Royals defeated Franklin County on Nov. 7 by the score of 33-0.
The fact is that was the halftime score. We relied on an incorrect source for our information.
The real story is that in the second half, Franklin County played their hearts out and scored three unanswered touchdowns.
Junior D.J. Lane scored on a run from six yards out in the third quarter, and sophomore Erix Carranza hit the extra point to make it 33-7.
Sophomore James Winfield had a 70-yard touchdown pass reception from senior Quarterback Gene Anderson in the fourth quarter, but the extra point was blocked, to make it 33-13.
Winfield scored his second touchdown on the night with a 15-yard pass reception, and Carranza kicked the extra point, to make it 33-20.
The Times apologizes to the entire team and to all Seahawks fans for the error.
