There was food, fun, friends and family galore on Saturday when Preshia Crum celebrated a century of life spent in Eastpoint.

She was surrounded by family and friends at the fellowship hall of Eastpoint’s First United Methodist Church. After a meal of chili dogs and chips, Ms. Preshia’s family presented her with a huge cake. Everyone had their choice of devil’s food or vanilla, accompanied by ice cream.

Outside in the sun, kids of all ages enjoyed a tree swing or played impromptu games of football and tag.

Ms. Preshia was serenaded by gospel music performed by members of her family and was photographed hundred of times over the course of the afternoon.

Grandson Jamie Crum said she left the part at 4 p.m. “a little tired,” but very, very happy.
