The Bay Area Choral Society will perform the Easter portion, parts II & III, of Handel's Messiah this Saturday in Port St Joe and Sunday in Apalachicola.

Merel Young will direct the society, with Karl Lester as accompanist.

Saturday’s performance is at 4 p.m. at Port St. Joe’s First United Methodist Church. Sunday’s performance is at 4 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Apalachicola.

The concert is under the auspices of the Apalachicola Area Historical Society. Admission is by a suggested $5 donation.

The concert will include #22 Behold the Lamb of God; #23 He was Despised   (soloist Ginny Griner); #24 Surely, He Hath Borne Our Griefs; #25 And with His Stripes We Are Healed; #26 All We Like Sheep Have Gone Astray; #29 Thy Rebuke Hath Broken His Heart (soloist Brooks Jones); #30 Behold and See If There Be Any Sorrow (soloist Brooks Jones) and #33 Lift up Your Heads.

After intermission, the concert will continue with #37 The Lord Gave the Word; #38 How Beautiful Are the Feet (soloist Francis Campbell); #40 Why Do the Nations (soloist Gordon Adkins);#41 Let Us Break Their Bonds Asunder; #42 He That Dwelleth (soloist Brooks Jones); #43 Thou Shalt Break Them (soloist Brooks Jones); #44 Hallelujah; #45 I know That My Redeemer Liveth (soloist Tamara Marsh); #46 Since By Man Came Death; #47 Behold, I Tell You a Mystery (soloist John Nagy); #48 The Trumpet Shall Sound (soloist John Nagy) and #53 Worthy Is the Lamb(Blessing and Honor, and Amen chorus).
