In the latest anti-Desantis ad that I heard on the radio, it was said that gubernatorial candidate Ron Desantis supported adding a 23 percent sales tax. I assume he was referring to the Fair Tax, a federal sales tax that would replace the approximately 22 percent of federal taxes that are now embedded in the purchase of new products. What was not mentioned was that the Fair Tax would also eliminate the current income tax program, the IRS, tax return forms, hours and days of saving and organizing receipts, drug dealers and their ilk who pay no taxes now, and probably most of the lobbyists on K Street in our nation's capital.
This seems to me to be a text book example of deceiving with a small part of the truth.
