The ineptitude and dishonesty of President Trump has been an embarrassment to America on the world stage, but may not not yet have irreparably damaged the nation’s security.  Now, Trump has ordered his generals to consider scaling back the U.S. presence on the Korean Peninsula, a vital American strategic asset that China,  Russia and North Korea would love to see dismantled.

To me, Trump’s hunger for a symbolic and widely televised "peace celebration" with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un appears to exceed his commitment to America’s long-term security. Not a week goes by that fails to demonstrate the possibility, if not the probability, that Trump has been compromised by foreign powers whose interests are antithetical to those of the United States. Yet most Republicans still support this guy.
