Billy Warren Bailey, 81, of Carrabelle, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Billy was born in Andalusia, Alabama. The family later moved to Blountstown, where he graduated from high school. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Eustis, Virginia, Once he completed his tour he relocated to Carrabelle, which became his home.
After working in real estate for several years, he acquired his broker’s license and opened Bill W. Bailey Realty in Eastpoint and later in Carrabelle.
He was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Carrabelle for many years. He also was a member of the local American Legion Chapter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Silas Lamar “Jerry” Bailey, his mother, Nora Lee Bailey, and sister, Janette Lakey.
He is survived by his wife, Babs Bailey of Carrabelle; two daughters: Teresa Bailey of Tallahassee, and Lisa Strickland (Ron) of Crawfordville; and sister: Joann Gander (Rush) of Carrabelle.
The family will receive friends at Fellowship Baptist Church in Carrabelle on Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 3 to 4 p.m. Services will begin at 4 p.m. with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
David Conn of Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
