Thelma Rebekah Hicks Selden, 94, passed away at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee on Tuesday, August 23, 2016.
She was born in Wausau. She was a beloved Christian wife, mother and homemaker. She later went into nursing at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and Florida State University Medical Center. After that, she enjoyed painting. She always made sure everyone was happy and well-fed.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jesse Harmon Hicks and Georgia Rebekah Barton; her husband, John Randolph Selden; her son, Douglas Byrd Selden; and her brothers and sisters: Lewis, Eliza, Wesley, Laura and Wendell.
Survivors include sons, Randy & David; daughters: Kay & Becky and her daughter, Rebekah; six grandchildren, Emily, Phillip, Elizabeth, John, Timothy and Rebekah; eight great-grandchildren; and trusted friend, Michelle Trawick.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Culley's MeadowWood. The service will be Friday, August 26 at 2 p.m. at Culley's MeadowWood, 1737 Riggins Rd, Tallahassee, with burial at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
