FSU To Host Big Bend Birding Weekend

The snowy egret will be among the beautiful area wildlife to be viewed during the first Big Bend Birding Weekend, sponsored by the Florida State University Coastal and Marine Lab, and scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10 and 11. If you are not familiar with the Big Bend region of Florida, it offers some of the state's best birding and most pristine wildlife areas, including Apalachicola National Forest, with the world's largest population of red-cockaded woodpeckers, Tate's Hell State Forest, St. George Island State Park, Bald Point State Park, and the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve. Trips will be lead by Dr. Todd Engstrom, John Murphy, and Alan Knothe.

To register contact Sharon Thoman, 697-4095. Weekend is limited in the number of participants.
