Graham Creek Bridge repairs near completion
Chipley – Motorists traveling State Road 65 in Franklin County won't have to face another full day of detours this weekend due to the closure of the Graham Creek Bridge.
The bridge was closed late Wednesday, after Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) bridge inspectors discovered damage to a bent that supports the end of the bridge span. FDOT structure crews working on repair were set to reopen the bridge by Friday evening.
The bridge is about 10 miles south of the Franklin/Liberty County line. State Road 65 runs through the Apalachicola National Forest and Tates Hell State Forest, connecting S.R. 20 in Liberty County to U.S. 98 in Franklin County.
A detour route using U.S.98, U.S. 319, S.R. 267 and S.R. 20 was set up for through traffic.
