Apalach traffic stop yields prescription drug bust

On Tuesday, Aug. 31 at approximately 10:21 p.m., Apalachicola Police Officer Timmy Davis conducted a routine traffic stop on a black Dodge Durango driven by Belinda Kelliher, 47, of Apalachicola.

During the stop, with the assistance of Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Ronnie Jones and Lt. Kevin Newell; the vehicle was searched and several medicine bottles containing prescription drugs were discovered.

Kelliher was arrested on 143 counts of possession of a controlled substance, and 28 counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Police estimated the value of the drugs recovered is between $4,000 to $4,500.
