Franklin County ’s first venture into its own soccer league has been a huge success.

The league closed out play Dec. 2, with final games and a party, with each player receiving a medal for their efforts.

Taking part in this inaugural year were under-6 teams Ace Hardware, coached by Lloyd Alford; Harrison Bail Bonds, coached by Allen Millender, and Best Western Apalach Inn, coached by Brad Blackburn.

The under-8 teams consisted of Marks Insurance Agency, coached by Caleb Kembro; Ace Hardware, coached by Isaac Diaz; and Five Star Home Repair, coached by Shelby Lipscomb.

The under-10 teams were Blue Parrot, coached by Thomas Noffsinger; and Journeys of St George Island, coached by Clint Taylor.

The under-12 teams were Ace Hardware, coached by Richard Herrington; and Shaun Donahoe Real Estate, coached by Craig Hicks.
