Estes’ Silk Banner Juried in Albuquerque

Joyce Estes, a silk painter, owner of Sea Oats Galley on St. George Island and a member of Silk Painters International (SPIN), has juried a silk banner into a special exhibition at the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum in Albuquerque, NM.
The show entitled "Art of Ballooning, Patterns in the Sky" will run from Aug. 1 through Oct. 23 during the annual International Balloon Fiesta. Last year more than 900,000 people attended the nine-day hot air and gas balloon event.
The silk balloon banners in the Albuquerque museum are part of the Silk Painters International conference held in the neighboring city of Santa Fé, NM where silk painters from all over the world will meet for a 10-day conference. Joyce will attend this conference and show her silks as a SPIN member in the juried competition at the conference.
