Veterans host annual cookout Sept. 11

Franklin County’s annual veterans cookout will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Battery Park in Apalachicola.

The cookout has its origins in the summertime cookout for Vietnam veterans, and has since been expanded to welcome and honor all veterans from all eras, who served in any of the military branches, and their families.

The cookout begins at 11 a.m. and last through the afternoon.
