At their Jan. 21 meeting, county commissioners voted unanimously to approve a resolution recognizing Georjanna Myers, granddaughter of Commissioner Noah Lockley, as the winner of the Franklin County Spelling Bee. The ABC School eighth grader will represent the county at the Big Bend Spelling Bee in Tallahassee Feb. 8. The Big Bend Bee will be televised on WFSU. If Myers wins there, she could be headed to Washington DC for the national bee.
