Thiago Finuff caught the first place croaker followed by Blake Bevin. There was a three-way tie for third between Kyler Bebee, J.T. Mathes and River Sheridan.

The youth tourney always attracts out-of-state anglers but this year set a record for longest distance traveled. Wesley and Isaac Baldursson, who are visiting their grandparents Byron and Mary Sherman in Carrabelle, hail from Iceland .

After attending an orientation class Friday night, each young fisherman received a free rod and reel provided by Fish Florida.

Mary Lawhon reminded everyone that buying Fish Florida license plates supports the outreach organization that reaches out to teach kids responsible fishing practices.

Lawhon said local merchants also contributed greatly to the tournament. She gave special thanks to Jimmy Crowder for allowing the tournament to be headquartered at C-Quarters and to dockmaster Millard Collins.
