A Carrabelle youth, Colton Thomas, took the prize for biggest fish in the ninth annual C-Quarters Youth Fishing Tournament last month.

On Saturday, July 20, 156 kids fished in the tourney in spite of scattered thunderstorms. That’s up 14 from last year.

In spite of dark skies and persistent showers, it was a good day for catfish. Thomas landed a whopper that weighed over five pounds. Preston Thompson caught the second place cat; third place went to Kloie Douglas.

Destiny Murphy, a C-Quarters regular, landed the only flounder.

Bryce Chittenden took first place for ladyfish, followed by Jacob Thompson. Larry Winchester and Jayce Thompson tied for third.

Justin Cahoon caught the only trout.

Branton Tarinto had the biggest pinfish. Brooklyn Roach took second and Waver Posner was third.
