The August Full Moon Climb at the Cape St. George Lighthouse on St. George Island will be Wednesday, Aug. 21. The Sunset/Full Moon Climb will take place from 8 to 9:30 p.m. and will include light hors d'oeuvres and a sparkling cider toast, for $15 for the general public and $10 for members of the St. George Lighthouse Association.

After sunset, people may just climb the lighthouse for a breathtaking view of the full moon, as space and time permit. Cost is $10 for the public. St. George Lighthouse Park at the center of St. George Island. For reservations, please contact the Lighthouse Gift Shop at 927-7745.

Every Wednesday in August from 2-3 p.m. you can hear a presentation about Sea Turtles,Franklin County's Oldest Visitors,” by the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve (ANERR) and the St. George Island Volunteer Turtlers.
