Don’t miss boat show Saturday

Apalachicola will host the 16th annual Apalachicola Antique and Classic Boat Show on Saturday, April 19. Antique boats, examples of classic and traditional vessels, workboats, and fiberglass and aluminum classics will be on display throughout the day.

The Apalachicola Maritime Museum will have a special open house Friday evening, April 18 with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. The Apalachicola Traders’ Canoe, a hand-built 50-foot long vessel used between 1750-1850, and recovered from the Apalachicola River will be on display at the Cotton Warehouse. At 5:30 p.m. Saturday. BackPorch Revival, an old-time string band will play at Riverfront Park . Bring your own chair. Concert is free.

‘Bow-wowery’ Station Yappy Hour benefit

The Bowery Station located in Apalachicola is hosting a fundraiser for the Franklin County Humane Society on Wednesday, April 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. You are invited to bring your well behaved four-legged friends to the Bowery Station to enjoy Yappy Hour.  Yappy Hour will support the Franklin County Humane Society’s Spay/Neuter Voucher Program. There will be games and prizes and an opportunity for you to support this vital program to help reduce the homeless pet population here in Franklin County .
