Museum to screen documentary Jan. 25

The 28th Infantry Division that trained at Camp Gordon Johnston bore the brunt of the opening drive of what was known as the “ Battle of the Bulge.”

On Saturday, Jan. 25, at 10:30 a.m., a documentary “The Drive to the Ardennes ” will be shown in the movie theatre at the Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum.

Produced by CGJ Member John Gaffey, the documentary will feature the valiant effort of the outnumbered 28th which slowed the advances of the Panzer Divisions speeding towards the village, Bastogne , a key objective of the Germans in their “last gasp” attempt to drive a wedge into the Allied forces and recapture the initiative on the Western Front.

The documentary will last approximately one hour and free popcorn will be provided. While there is no admission fee, please remember that the museum operates on donations, and donations are welcome.
