Carrabelle Riverfront Festival to host pet show

Does your Dalmatian have a wonderfully waggy tail? Is your cat the cutest in the county? Does your parrot look good in his pirate costume? Round up all your wonderful pets and enter them in the Carrabelle Riverfront Festival Pet Show where they will strut their stuff and show off before the judges in the viewing ring at noon on Saturday, April 26.

Registration is $5 per pet or $10 for your whole pack and each pet will receive a gift just for entering. Judges will be looking for all kinds of talent and for just plain cuteness. There will be lots of winners in categories including best kisser, best pirate costume, most mysterious heritage, and most exotic, just to name a few. The winner of the People's Choice award will receive a pet portrait by local wildlife photographer, Jon Johnson.

You may register early by calling Harriett at 697-8571 or register at the festival on Saturday before the show. Additional information can be found on the Carrabelle Riverfront Festival website.

Carrabelle festival features ‘pirate school’

What kid wouldn't want to be a pirate? At the pirate school, young folks can learn to walk, talk, sing, work, dress, and play like pirates. Would-be pirates can walk the plank, dig for treasure, sail castaway's rafts, shoot down a pirate flag and hear tales of local pirate deeds. There will be sea shanties to sing and piratey crafts to make and take home.
